Mounjaro prescribing for weight loss

Mounjaro® - Who can get it on the NHS?
NHS England has shared who can get Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) to start with. It will be given in different stages, starting with people who are most in need. While the start date is June 23rd, there are no local arrangements in place yet so it is unclear if prescribing will start after this date.
In the first phase, only people with multiple serious health conditions will be eligible to receive it on the NHS. This is the same everywhere in England. To get Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®), you must:
Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or more, and
Have at least four of the following health problems:
High blood pressure
High cholesterol or fat levels in your blood
Sleep apnoea (trouble breathing while sleeping)
Heart disease
Type 2 diabetes

Some diabetic patients may also be eligible.

Due to the volume of requests we are receiving about this drug, we are not able to have lengthy discussions with patients who do not meet the eligibility criteria. We can only follow the agreed rules and there is no scope for deviation from these.
